About Happy Kids Sports

Children are our future and the best way to prepare them for a healthy, long life is to introduce them to exercise and physical activity at a young age.

At Happy Kids Sports, we recognise the key role preschool years are playing in shaping children’s attitudes and behaviours. We aim to show children that physical activity can bring enjoyment and happiness. Our multi-sport program is designed to improve children’s motor skills and coordination. It helps children to build new friendships, develop confidence and social skills. Children will benefit from these newly acquired skills in their everyday life, especially when they start school.

Our Coaches

All our coaches are highly qualified, supportive and nurturing. They have many years of preschool children coaching experience under their belt. Their positive attitude, support and ability to engage any child translate to children enjoying and getting most of our specially designed program.

All our coaches have completed the COVID-19 Infection Control Training course and have downloaded the COVIDSAFE app.

Daniel (founder and head coach) has completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science and also Bachelor of Human Movement at Victoria University. His specialisation is Sport Motor Development in preschool children. He is a qualified Personal Trainer and Children Sport Coach with more than ten years of experience. He holds current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

What are the dates?

Our classes coincide with the school term times. There are no classes on public holidays. We offer mid-term enrolments.

How long are the classes?

All our classes are run indoors. The Toddler class (1.5 – 2.5yo) runs for 30 minutes. Happy Mini and Happy Big Kiddies classes run for 45 minutes.

How do I pay?

We offer online booking system for all our classes. After filling in the enrolment form, an invoice with payment information is emailed to you.

We also accept cash and cheques but require all payment to be made before commencement of classes. If the fee is not paid in full prior beginning of the term, your child cannot participate in our program.

What if my child doesn’t enjoy the first class?

We recommend using a free trial class. There is no obligation if your child doesn’t enjoy the class. You might try another free trial next term.

What if my child gets hurt?

Our classes have been designed as a non-contact program. If for whatever reason your child gets hurt, our coaches have First Aid certification.

Are the classes insured?

All classes are insured with the relevant public liability insurance cover. We take the welfare of children seriously.

How many children are in each class?

The maximum size of the class is ten children to ensure that all children receive the required attention and support.

Are the parents required to participate in the sport class?

Parents of the younger children are required to participate in the class. The involvement of parents and carers is important for shaping a child’s attitudes and behaviour during pre-school years.

Are the coaches qualified?

Our coaches are experienced in teaching pre-school children. All coaches have (as a minimum) a Level 1 Coaching qualification under the NCAS from the Australian Sports Commissions. They also have a current working with children check and First Aid certification.

What to bring to the class?

Please bring a bottle of water for your child. We also recommend wearing a long sleeve shirt, track pants or shorts, and sneakers suitable for physical activities.

Refund Policy:

Our classes including court hire have to be organised prior to the commencement of the term. Therefore, no refunds are available.

Make Up Class Policy:

If your child is not able to attend a class and you let us know in advance about this, make up class might be available. However, we cannot guarantee there will be availability for a make up class. To book a make up class, please contact us as soon as possible to check availability. Make up classes do not carry to the next term and no credit is available for any missed classes.

Do You Offer A Sibling’s Discount?

A 10 per cent discount to all enrolments after your first child.

NOTE: Please contact us directly to have the discount applied.

In agreeing to attend Happy Kids Sports classes I:

  • release and forever discharge Happy Kids Sports from all claims that I may have or may have had arising from, or in connection with, my child and a Happy Kids Sports program; and
  • indemnify, will keep indemnified and hold harmless Happy Kids Sports, to the extent permitted by law in respect of any claim as a result of or in connection with a Happy Kids Sports program.

I warrant that my child has not at any time suffered blackout, seizure, convulsion, fainting, dizzy spells or any other medical condition and is not presently receiving treatment for any illness, disorder or injury which would render it unsafe for my child to take part in a Happy Kids Sports program. I have read and I consent for my child to participate in a Happy Kids Sports program and understand the risk involved and further agree to be bound by the Happy Kids Sports Code of Conduct and operating rules.

I acknowledge that Happy Kids sports uses its best endeavours to ensure that the equipment and sporting facilities used in the program are safe and fit for purpose and acknowledge that all sports are inherently dangerous. I have voluntarily read and accept the inherent associated risks. “Happy Kids Sports” mean all directors personally and in their capacity as a director, partners of directors, agents, coaches and any representatives of Happy Kids Sports. “Happy Kids Sports Program” includes all programs and activities that you or your child participates in during our courses and classes. This includes but is not limited to any organised sport, training, facilities and activities provided by Happy Kids Sports.

Timetable Changes

All classes are subject to change. While Happy Kids Sports uses its best efforts to operate classes as per the timetable published on this website, in some instances changes are required due to fluctuations in demand. No guarantee is made that classes will run per the timetable. Any changes required will be communicated to those affected prior to the date classes commence.

Refund Policy

Uniform Policy

There is no uniform policy. However it is recommended to wear a long sleeve shirt to class, shorts or track pant and enclosed sport shoes.

Fee Payment

Our classes coincide with the school term times. Each class is priced per session and can only be purchased in term blocks. Due to the way that the classes have been constructed we are unable to offer a “pick and mix” system and can only provide a block class booking. We require all fees to be paid prior commencement of program. If the fee is not paid in full prior beginning of the term, your child cannot participate in our program.

Happy Kids Sports accept cash, cheques, direct debit and PayPal payments.

NOTE: PayPal payment will incur 2% surcharge.

Parental Participation

Parents and guardians are required to be present for the duration of each class. Happy Kids Sports is not a registered child care provider and is not therefore licensed to care for children without parental or guardian supervision.

Sibling Policy

Siblings of enrolled children are not permitted to participate in Happy Kids Sports classes. If you have siblings attending, you must ensure that they remain off the court and do not interfere with any equipment being used throughout the class duration.

Photography

From time to time your child may be photographed or videoed whilst undertaking a Happy Kids Sports class. Such media might be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to reproduction on the Happy Kids Sports social media platform. By enrolling in the Happy Kids Sports program you agree to such use by Happy Kids Sports. Parents are not to take videos or photographs that include other children in the class without the permission of that parent/guardian.

Food And Drink

We do not allow for food to be consumed during any Happy Kids Sports class. A majority of the facilities in which we operate our classes also prohibit food from being consumed on the court or playing arena.

Our classes are structured to include a drink break and we request that all children bring a drink bottle with them to each class.

COVID-19 Back to play plan – sport classes

We advise members that they should NOT ATTEND Happy Kids Sports classes if they:

  • have a confirmed case of COVID-19. You cannot attend Happy Kids Sports classes until you are medically cleared to return.
  • have close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. You cannot attend Happy Kids Sports classes for 14 days since last contact with the confirmed case.
  • are unwell or have flu like symptomsincluding: a cough, high temperature, running nose or sore throat. If you or your child present with any of these symptoms, you will be asked to leave the class and we will offer you an extra make-up class for the missed session.

Staff will stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days if they are unwell or have any flu-like symptoms or if they have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

HYGIENE

  • Hand Sanitiser will be provided for use on entry and exit.
  • Cough /sneeze into your elbow or a tissue and immediately dispose your tissue.
  • Participants are to bring their own water bottle to classes. Sharing will not be permitted.
  • The sharing of equipment will be limited.
  • Equipment will be cleaned before, between and after classes.

PHYSICAL & SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • One parent/carer ONLY can attend classes. This rule applies where max gathering sizes are at 20 and below.
  • Where possible different entry & exit points will be utilised and there will be a break between classes.
  • Markers will be used for physical distancing identifying a 1.5 metre spacing.
  • Class sizes will be capped
  • Parent seating, if provided, will be spaced at 1.5m.
  • Parents will be encouraged to assist with helping children follow the social distancing rules.
  • Some aspects of our classes will be modified to follow social distancing requirements including:
    • No high fives or group cheers
    • No holding hands
    • No stickers or stamps
    • Modified circuit activities

WELLBEING

  • Parents, carers and staff are encouraged to sign up to the COVID Safe App.
  • Parents/caregivers will be required to sign in on attending each class. This record will be retained for a minimum 28 days.

INCIDENT MANAGEMENT

If anyone attending our classes tests positive to COVID-19 they are to immediately inform the Happy Kids Sports Head Office on 0408 337 399 or by email: enquiry@happykidssports.com.au

All attendees at that class will then be notified via email of the confirmed COVID-19 case and the next steps.

Attendance records will be provided to authorities if requested

When purchasing from Happy Kids Sports your financial details are passed through a secure server using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology.128-bit SSL encryption is approximated to take at least one trillion years to break, and is the industry standard.
